Terraces and penthouses in Ibiza

A terrace in Ibiza Town, Talamanca or Marina Botafoch takes sun, salt air and strong winds for much of the year. We design the garden in layers: perimeter planters with compact hedging to filter the wind, decorative planters with a palm, olive or cypress to give structure, and areas of aromatics and flowering plants for colour and scent.

Every project is planned around the load per square metre the terrace can carry, the drainage points and access for maintenance. Where the architecture allows, we also work with planted pergolas, fabric shades and integrated furniture.

We design and build bespoke planters in corten steel, tropical timber, polished concrete or microcement, according to the style of the penthouse. All of them include a drainage layer, geotextile and professional substrate matched to each species.

For coastal penthouses we favour species that resist wind and salt: dwarf olive, pencil cypress, mastic, lavender, rosemary, plumbago, dipladenia, bougainvillea and Mediterranean grasses. We always combine permanent structure with seasonal flowering to hold visual interest all year.

Rain Bird drip irrigation is the best solution for terraces: precise water delivery, minimal consumption and no run-off onto neighbours. We install a Wi-Fi controller the owner manages from their phone, ideal for penthouses used intermittently.

We add solenoid valves, filters and self-compensating drippers to guarantee even watering across planters at different heights.
