    Mediterranean Landscaping in Ibiza

As landscape gardeners in Ibiza we design and build Mediterranean landscaping projects for villas, hotels and communities. Our style is rooted in the island's natural environment: olives, carob trees, lavender, rosemary, palms and drought-resistant native plants. We combine aesthetics, sustainability and low maintenance with efficient irrigation, LED lighting and built elements such as dry-stone walls or pergolas. Since 2003 (over 20 years) we have created green spaces that respect the character of Ibiza and add lasting value to every property.

Frequently asked questions about landscaping in Ibiza

What is the difference between landscaping and gardening?+

Gardening focuses on maintaining an existing garden (mowing, pruning, irrigation). Landscaping designs and builds the garden from scratch: it studies the terrain, selects species, integrates irrigation, lighting, walls, paths and architectural elements. At ServiJuanito we do both and usually move from the landscape project to long-term maintenance.

    What is Mediterranean landscaping?+

It is a garden style based on species adapted to Ibiza's hot, dry climate — olive, carob, palm, lavender, rosemary, plumbago, bougainvillea — with low water consumption and a natural aesthetic integrated with the surroundings.

How much does a landscaping project cost in Ibiza?+

A landscape concept starts from €1,500. Execution depends on surface area and materials, but a turnkey Mediterranean garden for a villa typically ranges from €30 to €120 per m² covering vegetation, irrigation, lighting and civil works.

Do you work with xeriscaping and low water use?+

Yes. We design dry gardens with decorative gravels, native Pityusic plants and Rain Bird drip irrigation that reduces consumption by up to 60% versus traditional irrigation.

Does it suit modern villas or only traditional payesa houses?+

We adapt the design to any architecture: modern minimalist villa, traditional payesa house, boutique hotel or penthouse terrace. Every project is unique.

Which areas of Ibiza do you cover?+

The whole island of Ibiza and Formentera: Ibiza town, Santa Eulària, Sant Josep, Sant Antoni, Sant Joan, Cala Jondal, Es Cubells, Roca Llisa, Cala Tarida and the rest of the island.

How long does a landscaping project take?+

Design takes 3–5 weeks (site survey, concept, 3D visuals, plant palette and budget). Execution depends on size: a 500 m² Mediterranean garden takes around 4–6 weeks; a full villa landscape with civil works, lighting and irrigation, 8–14 weeks.

Do you provide 3D renders and a planting plan?+

Yes. Every landscape project includes a CAD planting plan, plant-by-plant species list with quantities, irrigation and lighting layout, and 3D visuals so the client can see the garden before construction starts.

Can you integrate a pool, pergola or chill-out area?+

Yes. We coordinate with architects, pool builders and carpenters to integrate pool surrounds, wooden pergolas, outdoor kitchens, fire pits and chill-out platforms within the landscape design.

Which species work best in Ibiza?+

Centenary olive, carob (algarrobo), Aleppo pine, sabina, Washingtonia and Phoenix palms, lavender, rosemary, plumbago, bougainvillea, oleander, agave, aloe and ornamental grasses. All low-water, sun-tolerant and salt-resistant for coastal villas.

    Do you handle landscape lighting?+

Yes. We install low-voltage LED garden lighting: uplighters for palms and olives, path lighting, wall washers and underwater pool lights, with smart control via app or astronomical timer.

Is the landscape project compatible with holiday rentals?+

Yes. We design low-maintenance, high-impact gardens that look perfect for photos and guest stays, with automated irrigation and species that recover quickly between turnovers.

Do you respect the Ibiza building and environmental regulations?+

Yes. We follow Consell d'Eivissa and local council rules on protected species (sabina, pine), dry-stone walls (PTI heritage), water use and rural building setbacks. We coordinate with the project architect when permits are required.
