Mediterranean garden villa in Santa Eulalia

Santa Eulalia combines coastal winds, dry summers and shallow calcareous soil. Our team selected species resistant to salinity and direct sun: centenary olives, Phoenix dactylifera palms, lavender, rosemary, mastic, bougainvillea and plumbago. The full plant palette was chosen for low maintenance and consistency with the Ibicenco landscape.

The design organises the garden into three settings: the pool area with palms and natural lawn, the shaded area with olives and stone benches, and the perimeter walls with aromatics and climbers that add privacy without losing the sea views.

We installed a mixed Rain Bird system: pop-up sprinklers for the lawn and self-compensating drip for shrubs, trees and planters. Each sector is programmed independently from a Rain Bird Wi-Fi controller, allowing watering times to be adjusted by season, rainfall and the needs of each zone.

We added a rain sensor that automatically stops irrigation when it rains, and a head filter to protect the drippers. The result is water consumption optimised by around 50% compared to traditional watering — critical on an island with summer drought like Ibiza.

The villa is rented out weekly throughout high season, so the garden must always be impeccable and our interventions invisible to guests. We coordinate visits with the booking calendar and work at times agreed with the property manager.

The service includes lawn mowing, trimming of aromatics, formative pruning, weekly irrigation check, Mediterranean fertilising and clearing of leaf litter around the pool. One full monthly intervention plus targeted visits during demand peaks.
